I don't think that the noise is related to some malware. No PC security product can possibly protect you from every new spyware and malware threat.

Some of these new threats would be undetected by most of the popular security programs, including the ones we all use. Some antivirus will detect spywares but can't delete them so don't think they don't work is just that they are not designed to solve those issues.
